New School Arrangements

We are delighted to be at the stage of moving into our outstanding new school building. It has been years of campaigning, planning and building and we are finally here!
There have been several tours of the new school happening with staff over the last few months and some groups of pupils have also been lucky enough to have a look. All the feedback from staff, pupils, parents and partners has been incredibly positive and we feel very lucky to be moving into the new Castlebrae Community Campus.
As you are aware from previous communication, our pupils last day in our current building will be Thursday 7th April. Pupils will then be on Easter holidays from this date. We hope to use week beginning 4th April to take group photos of each year group to celebrate our last pupils in this building. Full school uniform must be worn as normal.
There will be senior supported study sessions running in the new school through out the Easter break. A huge thanks to all our staff who have opted in to providing this support throughout the holidays.
There will also be an opportunity for your child and 1 parent/carer to have a tour of the new school with Mr Johnstone during this time. These sessions will be on offer at the following times;
Tuesday 12th April at 10-11am, 12-1 or 2-3pm.
Wednesday 13th April at 10-11am, 12-1 or 2-3pm.

Staff will be in the new campus on Monday 25th and 26th April setting up new teaching areas and unpacking boxes. Pupils will return on Wednesday 27th April.
We must ensure the safety of all pupils and appreciate there will be a lot of excitement and possibly also some nerves and worries on the first day. Therefore the following plan has been put in place to ensure this is done in a calm, safe manner.
We will have a staggered start which means each year group can benefit from an assembly, including vital information like fire evacuation assembly points, new structures when moving around the school, doors to enter and exit etc. They will then have a tour of the building before joining classes. Staff will be around to support pupils from classes to ensure they get to know their way around the building throughout the week.
Please note the following times for Wednesday 27th April.

Seniors (all S4/5/6) will arrive for an 8.30 start.

S3 will arrive for a 9.20 start.

S2 will arrive for a 10.25 start.

S1 will arrive for a 11.15 start.

Our school day and timetable will remain the same as we are currently operating when we move to the new school. We will be meeting with pupils in assemblies beforehand to explain this plan to them so they feel prepared for the move. We will continue to assure them that there will staff around who will be able to help them if they need any support.
This is a really exciting time for our whole school community and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in to our new school officially on Wednesday 27th April 2022.
The current school building holds many memories for many of our parents/carers/ex pupils and we have some dates to share with you if you wish to join us for the farewell to Castlebrae.
The school will be open for tours, photos, teas and coffees for the community on;
Thursday 7th April 10-12 and 2-3.
Friday 8th April 10-12 noon.
We hope to see many familiar faces as we celebrate the journey of Castlebrae Community High School in our current building before starting our next chapter after the Easter holidays.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our young people, parents and wider community for the ongoing support we receive as we strive to provide the best possible education for our community. The partnership between school and home is vital to ensure all pupils are achieving and their needs are being met.
We want to take this opportunity to wish all our families a happy and healthy Easter break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back into our new school on the 27th April.
