  • NEW S2 PSE HOME LEARNING

Week 1:

We have spent quite a few weeks learning about the changes that will happen to us during puberty. We have looked at physical changes including what happens to the body, emotion changes, menstruation, sexuality, gender and relationships.

YOUR TASK: Look through the powerpoint attached on GENDER. There will be words which you might not have heard of before.

** Make up a poster, online or using paper/pens to explain what you have learnt.

It would be great if you could take a photo or screenshot and send to us at nicola.downie@castlebrae.edin.sch.uk or using our twitter @CHSPupilSupport.

Looking forward to seeing what you create!

Welcome back S1’s (week 3)

Hopefully you managed to have a relaxing Easter break whilst managing to stay safe. We are now completing our final topic of the year in PSE – Planning for choices and changes.

We will be spending most of this unit using the My World of Work website and developing our ICT skills, so hopefully most of you have access to electronic devices at home. Feel free to email me if this is an issue or you require support creating any work electronically (ashley.boak@castlebrae.edin.sch.uk).

Attached below is this weeks PowerPoint which takes you through how to log onto MWOW and create an account. Remember this is only a 50 minute lesson so don’t worry if you don’t manage to get everything finished, we will be carrying on with this next week.

Remember, any issues let me know 🙂

Week 4

Please find attached below this weeks lesson. We are carrying on from our work last week on MWOW.

Any issues getting logged on or accessing the website please let me know

Enjoy – Miss Boak 🙂

Week 5&6

For the next 2 weeks you will be creating an “about me” power-point. Remember each lesson is 50 mins so do what you can today and then finish next week.

The PowerPoint takes you through what should be included in your final presentation. If you are unable to access PowerPoint at home you could create a written document instead.

Any issues please let me know – Miss Boak 🙂

Week 7

This week you should have hopefully finished your “about me” PowerPoint. Its time to present them. You should present your PowerPoint to someone at home and ask them to give you feedback based on the bronze/silver/ gold assessment criteria included in the ppt above.

Finished PowerPoints should be sent to me via teams or email by 27/05/20.

Any questions or help required please let me know – Miss Boak 🙂

Week 8 and 9

S3 PSE HOME LEARNING:

YPI – We still plan to be creative and go ahead with as much of this as possible. We have done the most challenging bit in terms of choosing and visiting charities to gather information.

Most groups have started a presentation (saved to onedrive which is great as all should be able to access).

Please continue working on these as it is hoped we will still be able to run some form of final to allow one charity £3000 – at a time, where they need it most! This can be digitally if need be but we can think about that more later.

TASK: Please continue to communicate with your group and split tasks up. For example – One person take charge of the introductions and background/set up of the charity. Another person focus on what the charity offers, another person look at what they would do with £3000 etc.

Some key points to consider:

  • Make it engaging for the audience….you have even more time to some up with some great ideas. Film them at home and add to presentations.
  • Include short film clips, songs etc to emphasise your points.
  • Make it clear why you chose this charity – include facts and information to our local area.
  • Use the information from your visits and photos etc. Also use the charities websites and social media pages.

PLEASE REMEMBER THE IMPACT THIS COULD HAVE ON OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY. KEEP WORKING HARD! Any questions or anything, get in touch, nicola.downie@castlebrae.edin.sch.uk

I will also attach a blank copy of the Princes Trust Presentation Skills booklet which you can write on. I know we have started paper copied but hopefully you can remember some of what you wrote and get it all on a digital paper.

S3 CAREER PLANNING – PRINCES TRUST

You have started this during My WOrld of Work Week but please make a digital copy. Save it and please share with me (nicola.downie@castlebrae.edin.sch.uk). Use My World of Work website to help and think back to the interviews we did during the week.

You will need to make a CV – do this on My World of Work as it has a CV builder.

Let me know if you need any help at all – Good luck!
