National 5 English

Instructions: You should by now have completed the activities on the second power point – Personal reflective sample paragraphs. Thanks to those that have sent their work already. Well done.

Week 1: 11/5/20 – Read through the power point and complete all activities. Email work to your teacher at the end of the week.

Week 2: 18/5/20 – Read through the power point and complete all activities. Email work to your teacher at the end of the week.
Week 3: 25/5/20 – Please work through the third power point – ‘Opening Paragraph’. There is a word document with a reminder of literary techniques. Please use this to help you complete all activities. Any problems or questions get in touch with your teacher on teams or email.

Weeks 4 & 5: Work through the fourth power point – ‘Detail Description’ and complete the first draft of your personal writing for 15/6/20.

Week 6: 15/6/20 – Click on to the SQA Understanding Standards Website below. Read through examples A, G & H. Read through the commentaries to see why they got the grade they did. See if you can spot techniques they have used. Make sure you have checked your completed piece of personal writing before you email it to your teacher.
